L'opulent Grand Foyer
The Opulent Grand Foyer
"‘I know nothing as imposing as the great naves of Gothic churches and, telling myself that the Opera is, after all, a temple dedicated to art as its divinity, I wanted the auditorium to be considered the shrine of that temple, and the foyer considered the nave.’ Describing the foyer of the Paris Opera in this way, Charles Garnier expressed the importance he gave it while building the theatre." - http://visitepalaisgarnier.fr/en/restoration-grand-foyer
Of the many times that I have landed in Paris, I have never entered the the Palais Garnier. On my fourth visit, it was the perfect time for us to photograph the interior together. It was afterall, just a stone's throw away from the Galeries Lafayette.
